Weirdos Fundraiser & Grotto of Comedy

Fans of the Weirdos Christmas shows will be excited to hear that rehearsals are about to kick off on a new one. I'll provide more details as and when it's actually under way, but in the meantime, there's a special fundraiser for the show this Thursday at Camden Comedy Club. Weirdos proudly presents special guests Sam Simmons, John Kearns, Lou Sanders and Pat Cahill, with a Greatest Hits compilation performance from the Weirdos gang themselves, including Matthew Highton and myself hosting as our Scottish drug addict characters Dougie and Buggie. All the proceeds will go towards the costs of the Christmas show, which is itself raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Details of the fundraiser can be found here.

On a related note, this year the Christmas show will be staged as part of the Heroes Grotto of Comedy project, an extension of Bob Slayer's acclaimed Heroes of Fringe collective. The Grotto will see an abandoned restaurant in the City reclaimed for a few weeks to stage a number of conceptual, one-off comedy events including performances by Stewart Lee, Josie Long, Simon Munnery, the Alternative Comedy Memorial Society and many others. The Weirdos show will be playing at the Grotto from the 11th to the 13th December. Details can be found here.
