I’ll probably expand on this further in the newsletter, but for now, I just want to say a huge thank you to the amazing audience who came down to our fourth Eggbox show at the Pleasance last night. When we launched Eggbox at the end of 2023, we imagined it might be something that was fun but maybe fizzled out after a couple of shows, and the fact that we’re still able to fill the Main House at the Pleasance and showcase so much incredible work nearly two years later is very exciting. We love building a space that celebrates and champions all the amazing films and scripts that people are making.

I was also particularly proud to present the first ever screening of The Happiness Chain, the comedy pilot I made with director Ben Kent adapted from the script I wrote in 2023. I’m so proud of how it turned out, and it was lovely to show it to actual people for the first time ever. We’re now having lots of conversations about what its future might be, and those will take a while to explore the various options, but rest assured it’ll find its way out into the world before too long in some form. So keep your eyes peeled to work out where you might be able to see it next! Until then, a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped it to be a thing I feel really very proud of, from Ben himself who helmed the project so well, to the incredible cast and the amazing crew, and of course the generous crowdfunder backers, without whom we couldn’t have made it. I loved hearing a real audience enjoying it, and I can’t wait to work out where we go next with it.
